Happily Haunting by: Jennie Camile

On an evening in the midst of Autumn Where your real life self gets blurred and forgotten When you put on a mask or you carry a broom Where you find a celebration in a dark gloomy tomb On an evening when the breeze starts to cool You walk down the street and pass goblins and ghouls You feel at ease in someone else's persona Pillowcase in hand hoping to surpass last year's quota On an evening where spooks are expected Where parents are cautious and even more protective When flashlights and glowsticks help light the way Where pumpkins are turned into jack-o-lanterns for the day There's magic and darkness in every step And happiness dependant on what candy you get A mixture of giggles and screams No night is as happily haunting as Halloween
